Major attractions in Karnataka

Abbey Falls
Cascading from a height of 70m, Abbey Falls is located in Kodagu in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is a mesmerizing and picturesque waterfall. A hanging bridge across the gorge gives an exceptional view of the waterfall. Enjoy the roaring beauty by taking a dip in the cool waters.

Badami Cave Temples
Badami Cave Temples are located in Badami, in the Bagalkot district. Known for the beautifully carved cave temples, artificial lake, museum & rock-cut into the cliff of a red sandstone hill, Badami caves also gives an opportunity for adventurous climb. Of the four caves, three are dedicated to Hindu Gods, and the fourth is a Jain Temple.

Chennakesava Temple
Devoted to Lord Vishnu, Chennakesava temple is situated in Belur. Famous for its architecture and exquisitely carved stone figures, the temple has 42 bracketed figurines called Madanikas and typically star shaped ground plan. The lowest carved bands have 650 elephants in different moods.

Gol Gumbaz
Also known as ‘Whispering dome’ Gol Gumbaz is a fine piece of Islamic architectural style. The heritage has a height of 51 m and 3 m thick walls. The most remarkable feature of Gol Gumbaz is its acoustical system, even the faintest whisper echoes for 11 times and can be heard at a distance 37 km. Gol Gumbaz is largest dome in India.

Mysore Palace
Also known as Amba Vilas palace, the Mysore palace is in the heart of Mysore city. The beautiful building is a three-storied stone structure surrounded by a vast expanse of well-manicured gardens. The palace has a fine collection of sculptures, artifacts and the pinkish marble domes adorn the number of towers configured in perfect symmetry.

Banneghatta National Park
Experience the grand safari and get close to the wild creatures of the jungle. Divided into the sections of herbivorous and carnivorous, the national park is a home to a variety of animals. Animals like tigers, lions, rhinoceros, etc to the endangered ones like leopards, hyenas and chipmunks can also be seen here living in their natural habitats.
