Backwaters

Marine Drive

Fort Kochi
It is a region in the city of Kochi which is very popular with tourists. The European architecture is one of the major highlights of this region which was once under the influence of Dutch and the Portuguese. Fort Kochi beach, Chinese Fishing Nets, Basilica, Jewish Synagogue and Indo-Portuguese Museum are the other attractions of Fort Kochi.

Mattancherry Palace
Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, is a brilliant piece of architecture. It was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and was later modified by the Dutch.  This Palace was originally built by the Portguese. Inside the palace you will find beautiful Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art, portraits and exhibits of the kings of Kochi.

Jewish Synagogue
Built in 1568 by the Cochin Jewish committee, Jewish synagogue is a fascinating attraction. Its interiors boast of Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers and many more interesting things.

Santa Cruize Cathedral Basilica
It is one of the oldest and finest churches of Kerala which was originally built by the Portuguese. Its architecture is really beautiful.

St. Francis Church
Built in 1503, it is the oldest European church in India. The famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi on his third visit to India and was buried in this church. Later after around 14 years his remains were taken to Lisbon (Portuguese capital).
